I came across some data from Reveal in their article and ongoing investigation Hidden figures: How Silicon Valley keeps diversity data secret. They've assembled a database on released EEO-1 forms from some but not all silicon valley firms. You can read about their methodology here. So far only 11% of the companies they identified have shared company EEO-1 data with Reveal.

However here I will be generating my own analysis of the 22 companies I have data for. In this article in particular I will be examining their gender data in Tableau. I apologize ahead of time for relying on tables, but I hope the content retains your interest.

It's important in analysis to not be too harsh on these companies, they are the ones who have taken the rare step to release their data, 89% of silicon valley companies have so far chosen not to. However what we can see so far doesn't corroborate with the public posture of these companies.
